A. Corn (no till)

According to Michigan State University (MSU) double blind study conducted in 2007, the application of Bio Soil product combined with a 50% reduction of chemical fertilizer (13-13-13) produced a yield increase of 2,000 lbs per acre versus 100% application of chemical fertilizer (13-13-13).

B. Cotton (no till)

A three year study conducted in 1997, 1998, and 1999 in the Arkansas Delta produced an increase of over 100 lbs per acre in lint cotton than the untreated. The treated cotton also produced: $10.00/acre more in cotton seed than the untreated. The treated cotton matured 10 days earlier than the untreated. The treated cotton's tap root was an average of 6 inches longer than the untreated. The treated cotton's stalk circumference was 30-40% larger than the untreated.

According to MSU double blind study conducted in 2007, the soybeans showed an increase of 26% when used with a 50% fertilization program versus the normal 100% application.

According to MSU double blind study conducted in 2007, the squash showed an increase of 31% when used with a 50% fertilization program versus the normal 100% application.

I. BIO SOIL ENHANCERS has microbes representing the following critical functional groups:

A. Wider range of symbiotic and free living nitrogen fixing organisms to be able to support more efficient growth of a broader spectrum of plant species.

B. BIO SOIL products include Rhizobium bacteria that live in root nodules of LEGUMES and are responsible for more than 90% of all nitrogen fixation. These symbiotic nitrogen-fixing bacteria invade the root hairs of host plants, where they multiply and stimulate the formation of root nodules.Within the nodules the bacteria convert free nitrogen to nitrates, which the host plant uses for its development. Nitrogen fixation by bacteria associated with legumes and free living nitrogen fixing bacteria in soil are of prime importance in agriculture.



C. Non-rhizobial nodulating bacteria that fix nitrogen;

K. Phosphate Solubilizers

BIO SOIL products include different bacterial species that Solubilize insoluble inorganic phosphate compounds, such as tricalcium phosphate, dicalcium phosphate, hydroxyapatite, and rock phosphate. The principal mechanism for mineral phosphate solubilization is the production of organic acids, and acid phosphatases. Solubilization is the action of organic acids synthesized by microorganisms BIO SOIL ENHANCERS.

Plants take up PHOSPHATE as:
  • Primary orthophosphate ion: H2PO4 - (pH < 7.0)
  • Secondary orthophosphate ion: HPO4 - (pH < 7.0)
  • Soil pH - both equally present at neutral pH

Phosphorus in Soils

Total P in many soils (0 to 6 in.) ranges from 400 to 2,000 lb/A, but only a fraction of that is available for plant uptake each season.

I. pH Control Agents

Bio Soil products include microbes that colonize fast and produce organic acids and microbes that colonize slow to produce alkaline conditions. These microbes are specifically selected to achieve a consistent balanced pH of 6.5.

In a healthy balance of microbial proportions the pH of the soil will automatically stabilize at around 6.4 with Bio Soil Enhancer, which is the "perfect soil pH" not only for organic/biological agriculture, but is also the ideal pH of sap in a healthy plant.

II. Humic Acid

A. Humic acid (12%), an essential carbon source for soil microbes, is used as carrier to prepare BIO SOIL ENHANCERS. Humic acid is rich in organic matter with a high water-holding capacity and provides a nutritive medium for growth of Rhizobia and other bacteria and fungi.

B. Humic acid helps in building up of soil humus and enhances the natural processes, such as microbial activity which can be sustained over a long period of life. Hence humic acid has been taken as the carrier for developing the present BIO SOIL ENHANCER.

III. Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC)

Bio Soil enhances and protects the cation exchange capacity (CEC) of the soil to provide the essential nutrients needed for plant growth.

In sandy soils with a low CEC capacity, Bio Soil's combination of humic acid and microbes will chelate and hold the plant nutrients and moisture for the plant uptake and initiate the process for rebuilding the organic matter necessary for sustainable soil health.

In clay soils with a high CEC capacity, Bio Soil's combination of humic acid and microbes will penetrate the clay by providing a gel moisture ring around the soil particulates that swells these particulates and renders the soil airable for nutrient uptake. Heavy clay soils encapsulate the needed nutrients for healthy plant growth, but are normally unavailable.

CEC protects soluble cations from leaching out of the plant root zone. These ions are rapidly exchangeable with other soluble ions, so when root uptake depletes the nutrient supply they replenish plant-available cations in the soil solution.Cation exchange is the major nutrient reservoir of K+, Ca2+ and Mg+ and is important for holding on to N in the ammonium, (NH4+) form, and to some extent supplies micronutrient trace metals like Zn2+ and Mn2+. Cation exchange helps soils resist changes in pH in addition to retaining plant nutrients.
